Posted by Karen Rubin on Thu, Aug 6, 2009 @ 10:08 AM - [Tweet](https://twitter.com/share) I know I am a couple days behind on this one, but did you hear that ESPN has mandated that their talent cannot post anything online about sports?  ![](https://karen-rubin.hs-sites.com/hs-fs/file-14917565-jpg/images/ricbucher8-4-09_610x424-resized-600.jpg) According to [CNet](http://news.cnet.com/8301-1023_3-10303457-93.html) the memo states,  >  "Personal websites and blogs that contain sports content are not permitted...If ESPN.com opts not to post sports related social media content created by ESPN talent, you are not permitted to report, speculate, discuss or give any opinions on sports related topics or personalities on your personal platforms(.)"   I am actually surprised by this one. ESPN always has seemed so on top of it. Based on nothing but my own recollections, I feel like they were one of the first sites to really leverage online video. From [Ric Bucher](http://twitter.com/RicBucher) to the guys at [PTI](http://twitter.com/ptishow), their newscasters have also been all over social media. Are they just going to stop?
